Our Company
The Chicagoland Electrical Industry Credit Union is a non-profit cooperative organization, founded in 1981, owned by and operated exclusively for its members. It is supervised by the Department of Financial Institutions, State of Illinois.
The purpose and powers of this Credit Union are to encourage thrift among its members and to create a source of credit at a reasonable rate of interest. Income derived from loans to members provides dividends for our savers.
History
CEICU was chartered by the State of Illinois on October 14th, 1980. It was founded on February 5th, 1981 and incorporated on February 5th, 1982.
A $15,000 loan from Local 134 began our credit union. All it took to become a member was one dollar membership fee and one $15 share.
